0 Loot I have more websites but my main traffic source is from search engines hence I didn't need to promote them to my friends or my family.

I don't think many of them "get" forums and/or have little interest in them.

0 Loot I post about Christianity Haven on Facebook a couple times a year so family and friends are aware of the forum...they just aren't active on it. It's hard to encourage people to take part in a forum when they're unaccustomed to that type of community life and my sister said that even though she hides behind a username she feels too exposed to post about herself.
0 Loot Nope, few of my friends signed up. That they did as i kept bugging them, else no one would have signed up. I closed that project and no one ever asked me why.
I have started a new project now and i haven't said a word to my friends or family about it.
0 Loot I have friends that know of my website, some have already registered to it, others haven't just yet. I think letting family and friends know about your projects is important and a great way to spread word of mouth to help grow. 🙂
