Have you ever made a niche site with the only goal to make it profitable. I am thinking of making a basketball coaching site with the purpuse of selling basketball courses and such, but I lack the experience still to do it.

I have never done that. I have to be very invested in the niche for it to even have a chance. I guess the idea of making it a business is just not as compelling as it is for other people.

I've made a fairly niche Resident Evil fansite before, but it wasn't done with the intention of being profitable. Much like my projects that followed, it was primarily a learning exercise.

With something like what you're proposing, the content is what would make the site a success so I'd start my focussing my efforts on that before worrying too much about the physical website itself. You can start putting content together in word documents..

I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

I've run niche sites before.  Not to make money tho.  I make sites for fun! 😀

I suppose most sites are niche at the end of the day haha. I've never run sites with a sole intention to make it profitable but thankfully that's happened to me a couple of times. For example when I ran a technology news website. We ran it simply because we loved technology and writing about it - plus we got free samples of phones and such at some points - but when we sold it we made a bundle of profit in terms of what we put into the site. It was a bonus!

I made around $200 off running adult ads one time.  But it took like 2 years. LOL

Website flipping was big back in the day and seen so much of it. Nowadays it's not as big and back then most used WordPress. It's hard to earn anything from it and mostly I do it for the sake of an hobby.

I haven't even heard of this. What is "website flipping"?

A Niche Site that is designed not for the Experience, Fame or Quality but rather money...

No. Not at all. I don't think I would do that. I mean, I'm not a greedy person for cash, sweets or anything really. But the thing is, money can get over your head and then the only thing you care about is money...That is until your whole scheme falls.

I've always run sites for fun and to make friends.  20 years later, I'm still at it!

I am working on one right now. It's about Natural Treatment of various problems that almost everyone faces in his life. I have posted many such articles in different sites and all of them received a good number of views. Now I want to see how my site works in this niche.
