How was it when you had to set up and manage your first project?
Was it easy or did you have a lot to learn?

My first online project, without counting static pages or self-hosted communities, would probably be when I decided to make a Zelda forum in MyBB. I had never used Control Panel and because I started with a post-to-pay service it was pretty limited. Fortunately, it was a pretty attentive staff and as a starting package, it was decent. eventually decided to go for their paid hosting options. It went fine for a while until I did a bad mistake and I couldn't recover the community because my backups were incomplete. Sad times. Haha.

How about you?

My first project started with ucoz (free forum hosting), it was a Christian media download site. I got the domain by winning a contest and i was not able to renew it as i didn't had the money, Then i closed it and didn't start a new Christian media download site again.

My first community was on ezboard, so it was pretty easy to manage since you didn't have access to the source code. It was pretty much just a basic admin panel where you could make a handful of changes.

My first community on UBB was a bit more complexed, but I soon got interested in installing modifications and tweaking them as I saw fit. Something which I still do even now..

I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

Oh jeez, memory lane has arrived. My first project was a site I ran for a group at my college that I was a part of. We were in a competition so I wanted to make us 'stand out' from the rest by putting together a (then) slick site and forum (which was never used lol). I think I was running a .tk domain (before getting a proper one!) and MyBB as the software. It was a fun experience though!
