Pretty much got it all, been this way since I started forums 10 years ago. Though again, it takes time to get your site up with these guidelines.
I suppose this might work if you have like a small town newspaper. Though its not cheap to get into the newspaper really.

It doesn't really work member wise but it can boost your SEO traffic. After all, people go to FP to advertise, not to join a website.
What do you mean by hosting biz? Is it a website? I've never really heard of it.
It's pretty hard to stretch anything, after all most forums are out for public view so its not like you can lie about anything.
I would not put any money into youtube, most people tend to ignore their ads and just focus on people they like and enjoy content from.
Back linking and great quality content, I don't think that can ever change really.
But is massive success a good thing? I kind of want a community about 50 strong, not too much not too little so I know everyone posting.
I have, mostly to see what is up with it. Sometimes it was a fun adventure but it was mostly interacting with poison people.
