How tough is it to get your project going - and also, I'd love to hear especially from those planning big or huge things!   Well, myself, I have huge obstacles.  As mentioned in another thread, I'm simply putting in as much as I can get a hold of - and trying to run up the credit with Facebook Ads.

I'm extremely lazy these days, I feel like I should have my forum revamp done by now but I just been slacking a lot of days sadly.

Incredibly tough; motivation and determination are probably the key factors right now.

It's very difficult not to get disheartened when things aren't going as you'd hoped, despite investing large amounts of time and finances into a project..

I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

Endured enough of that myself, years my forum was dead but I still kept running it.

It's very tough to get started, I don't think people should be under any illusion that it is an easy thing to just hop on and get going with. From the planning to the set up to the promotion to the curation, it's all hard. It's knowing when the time is right to dust your hands off and say "thats enough" or "there's something here" and keep plugging away. Hopefully though, most people go into making forums/sites/blogs because its something they are interested in, passionate about doing. That always makes things a little bit easier. 🙂

I find it to be a bit tough, though I try to push myself to continue adding content so that could bring in more traffic and posts. I don't know how many projects I worked on that never got anywhere, so I gave up on them too early... I'm really trying my best now to stop with the habit of making too many forums and then quickly giving up on them before they flourish. I do this with other projects though too. :S

I believe that it's important to put all your effort into one forum/blog/project for a sustained amount of time. It's always tempting (believe me, I've been there!) to start up another site when one doesn't click as you wanted it to. You're doing all the right things though, keep adding content and keep adding content that you think your audience might like. Do some keyword research into what you audience wants to know and write stuff around that. Hopefully it starts to click somewhere for you! 🙂
