Have you ever had your hosting close down? Forcing you to find another place in a hurry?

I have never really experienced this but a friend of mine did many years ago, i hope i never really experience this as it can probably be quite worrying and mad rush to move.
Not as such.. I used to have issues with some free hosts back in the day, but that's almost to be expected in hindsight. People are definitely right when they say that you get what you pay for..

I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.
I had one paid hosting shut down, but they made a deal with another good hosting and worked on transferring my site over to the next hosting. Wasn't a bad of a experience.

I've had 'independent' hosts that I've been with before close down on me but certainly not a sudden thing. Last time I recall it happening the host gave us the last month for free and then worked out a deal with a new host where we got another month free (our first month on their platform) so it wasn't all too bad but that turned sour for different reasons haha.
Yeah, small ones and independent hosting is a bit dangerous to use. They may give better deals but you could be screwed if they don't pan out.

No, it was never an issue for me, luckily. Nothing like this but I used to have problems with some free forum hosts, but in hindsight it's almost to be expected. People are definitely right to say you get what you're paying for - your never in full control with free hosting. It's a bit dangerous to use small and independent hosting. I hope I'll never really experience this as moving may be quite worrying and mad rush.
