Patreon seems to be one of the effective method to make money for YouTube creators, illustrators and other people who are relying on the peoples funding to make money. However these days there are many forum owners and bloggers considering the Patreon. The reason being the adblcokers are reducing the chances of making money through the ads. So patreon seems to be one way for the forum owners and bloggers to make money through peoples donation.

Have you tried patreon funding on your blog or forum? What's your experience with the patreon?

Well, it's a possibility - but honestly, I'm guessing only 10 percent or less of Patreon pages make any money - and it might be less than that!  It's certainly a challenge - as with anything else that would succeed.

OK, you have to have something that people feel like they would donate to support.  That's the first thing!  Second, you need tons of traffic to make anything - but then again, if people are only interested in funding their hosting, then that might not need as much.  OK, third, there's a good chance that visual appeal is a must.

Patreon is surely a great way to make more revenue out of your forum or blog. But to do that you must make people to support your project by donating to you. I'm sure that people won't just give their money to every forum they register in. You must be unique and prove why they should support you on Patreon. Giving them rewards in the site is a good idea. Anyway, you must create a good atmosphere so the person can feel to donate you.

I can see Patreon doing something for some people in all honesty but I think you should have a good, stable site producing good content with great engagement before you even consider the prospect of setting one up. At this point, you also need to consider how you'll continue giving value to those that do donate - because they'll now be expecting a bit more from you. I know of one person who sends postcards from specific places to all Patreon people as a nice, quirky donation gift. It leaves a memory in the mind of that person though.

Wait, how would patreon even work for a forum? A forum is a place for people to gather and hang out in a sense, you can't have monthly payment goals for that unless you just use the service as a means of getting money.

Patreon normally needs a big list of leads.  I mean, the art lesson guy, Arron Rutten, makes a livable income - but he has a YouTube following of around 125,000!   Also, another guy, a ukulele teacher, makes around $4,000 a month - but his leads are a million!

Anyway, there is an exception. Some guy with a following of only 10,000 or 20,000 I think.  I will find the link.
