Old Forums/Sites

I always 'warn' people about 'consequences' if they tried to copy my content. Although I am working on various forums for almost 14 years and yet to take any action against anyone! As far action is concerned, I have taken action against members on certain  writing sites and glad to have forced them delete my copied content.

I've been meaning to do this myself, I got a bunch of old links from sites I did post exchanges with. I'm sure most are gone or were merged by now.

Yeah, unfortunately a lot of them have closed down but I managed to find a few surviving ones by searching by old usernames on google and finding various forum profiles 😀

I saw this thread on another forum and thought it might be nice to post it here. Do you remember any old forums or sites that you visited or maybe even owned when you were younger? Just spent quite a while going through some old URLs for my old sites, unfortunately, most have been removed by wordpress.com

Just found a post when I was around 8 or 9 as well posting on someone's forum where I threatened to contact WordPress if they copied my site 🤣 

When I was 8 or 9 there wasn't such a thing as a "PC".  Hey, I'm not old! hehe

I did see one of very first sites on I think it was something called "Way Back Machine".  We are talking like 19-20 years ago.  Some of the links/content still worked and I was able to retrieve stuff.  Trippy!

Dude, I love the way back machine! So nostalgic. Sometimes I spend hours in the day looking back at old websites. Like to see how they progress over the years.

I think I was more of an aggressive poster when I was younger so I really cringe about looking back at some of the sites I used to frequent. As I have aged I've acquired a more gentle approach to my wording and am slower to bite someone's head off. Oh, I'll still do it but I'll wait for the right time to attack  LOL

I'm glad that a lot of the old forums I used to visit are gone now and I'm also glad that I don't use some of those usernames anymore for people to find me.

Although I've discovered it recently, ytmnd.com is an old Site that's been around since 2001. It was abandoned by it's Creator(Max Goldberg) in 2014 as he lost Interest in it. Since then, it's died out and fallen into disrepair.

As of today, the Site is currently undergoing heavy Maintenance and Max himself is trying to restore the Site and update it to be more Modern and Up-To-Date with Technology. He even began a Patreon to help fund it.

The Site has been home to a lot of Memes(Or Fads as they were back then).

LOL we didn't get our first desktop until 2003, and I didn't join my first forum till 2007, and I'm 31 next month so don't feel bad.

On a more serious note though it'd be fun to dig up some of my old sites for the heck of it, but I haven't gotten the energy yet. Kind of concentrating on my current project at the moment 

hehe We got our first PC in the mid to late 80's. 🙂  Got on-line in 1997.

It was back then copying was viral. Now as Google needs originality, copying has somehow stopped.

I've never copied a site.  I always code sites myself and when using pre-written scripts,  I always customize it to make it unique. 🙂
