Bounce rates often lead to low engagement on the site. And if your blog post or forum posts require readers to engage and then click on ads or buy something, then the bounce rate needs to be low. This way you can have confirmed conversion of the services and the affiliate links. So for the bloggers having decent bounce rate of around 40 to 70 percent is the way to go. In such case there are lot of things that we need to know to reduce the same.Β
How do you manage to reduce bounce rate on your forum and blog?
I'm decreasing my bounce rate slowly, but it's not as easy as I thought it would be. What I've been doing is writing more so there's always new content, especially for my recurring readers. I also try to use gripping phrases, titles and images to grab and keep the attention of all readers. There's only so much you can do to improve your bounce rate. There's really nothing organic that you can do about it.
The design and content are massively important in reducing the bounce rate. Β Anyway, it could be possible to make a pretty site that keeps people in for awhile - while eventually the content drives them out, lol! Β OK, has anyone had experience with this? Β How about the unfortunate mess of good content - but crappy design?
From what I understand you need to post constant, original new content. It's a rather time consuming task really that I'm not sure if its worth it.

In terms of reducing bounce rate one thing I did was do some behind the scenes stuff in Google Tag manager so I could start tracking both active engagement on my page (vs Google Analytics engagement thing) and scroll-depth. This gave me some starting points to look at how long people are spending actively doing something on my website but also how far down each page they are going. From there, I can see where people are dropping off and modify pages with CTA's to bring them a bit deeper into the website. I'm happy to point you in the right direction with this if you want. πΒ
