Over the years of being an admin or forum goer, have you had any regrets? Wanting to do something differently?

Thankfully I don't have too many regrets, I generally don't believe in them.
If anything, I regret spending so much on vBulletin, XenForo, and add-on licenses. Forums can be equally successful on free platforms without all the bells and whistles of premium options.

I have many sadly, such as wasted time and money. Though experience is always a costly thing.
