What would you do if you were closing your site?

I have thought to close down my sites several times and I think most of the site owners has this in mind. Also, some execute the decision and close their sites.

However, for me I had lots of domain on the same niche, so I shut down other sites which were not doing well and took the one who had the best SEO score. This how I came to one domain idea. Same goes for forums or etc.

It takes lots of years to accomplish success in the website business and yes, content still is the king. But some thing can still keep going if you have the site based on user's participation.

I hope you think it deeply before you make a decision to shut down forever.

I've had SOO many sites over the years.  The only ones that were ever successful were adult.  So I've pretty much always run adult sites. hehe

If all your sites were of similar niche, I suggest you to move your content from other sites t the site you wish to keep. That way your existing site will be rich in content and you won't have to keep too many similar sites.

I only have two sites now.  A forum, and a custom coded story site (via User Frosting).  The forum is extremely active! 😎

May I know what forum is that and what does it deal with?

I've always run sites for fun, not to make money.  I did however make $100 ONE time only from an adult niche ad, but I later removed them and run no ads at all except for on the logon and register pages.  But members don't see them, and it's basically for forums/sites that link to me so I link back using their banners.

@zoldos I would like to visit your site and see if I can do something worth in mutual interest there! By the way I would rather spend my time on site like yours than on FB 🙂

I don't  think there should be any problem if you mention the name of your forum here (no url or ref link but only the name) I will do the rest on my own. 

No offense, but I'd rather not.   My site is very, very extreme, so I have to be careful, as not everyone on the net would appreciate it, and I've been raged at before because of the content (despite everything being completely legal).

I can just see you love your site and nothing else. People won't care what they wrote somewhere some pretty much ago. It's just sheer love for your hard work of 10 years and I can understand it.
