What are some methods you use to get people to check out your forums?
There's word of mouth, advertising forums like Forum Promotion, Twitter, etc.
So what are some of the things you do that get people to check out your forums?

Advertisement isn't my strong suit, but I've tried posting on forums that have an area to promote sites and/or affiliate. I also find sites like Forum Promotion handy, though I haven't seen fruit on my end so far. Just more sites to distract me from writing as much. I also promoted on Twitter, but my twitter feed gets pretty active so I don't think that works well.. Maybe I should make a new pin post...

In my experience, pure luck. Sure I've hit up forums, pleaded with people to spread our link but in the end it was luck and by chance of people finding my site and deciding to join up.
