How many people here use Twitter & Social media for promotion?
I mention twitter first as I've found this to be extremely helpful on most of my sites. Granted, I have almost 40k members on my website, but only 3.5k followers on twitter I do find that whenever I promote on twitter I gain around 50+ viewers at the moment of promotion, and an extra few members joining. I've found it to be quite helpful, especially if you find out the right hashtags to use.

At one time Christianity Haven had a twitter account but our tech guy who managed it was too busy to keep up with everything so we dropped it. We didn't have many followers anyway.
We have a Facebook group but there are only a hand full of real members on there and we get accounts that Like us but I have no idea who they are and they're probably even some type of spammer.
I really don't know how else we could reach new people except by word of mouth. Social Media hasn't been kind to us so far.
