Do you like helping other communities?

I used to offer quite often, or rather join aΒ  lot of forums that were starting and being offered a position or donating graphics I'd make to help them out. Some were unfamiliar with the software they were running so I've helped to change settings they couldn't find on their own and things like that.

Now I don't really do that as often. I've become busier and a lot more hesitant. I don't have the energy I used to and I am afraid of adding more responsibilities and then not being able to keep up the pace.

At times regards helping is to suggest what your thoughts are and share it with them. Every owner has to work with the members and end of the day it's what the community wants not the owner. Evening with everyone posting around helps allot.Β

Awhile ago I helped out a bunch of forums, but none of them had the drive to keep going and closed down. So these days I just kind of stick to my own forum.

Oh, man. I can relate to that. It can be so draining when you put energy in a new project and then they just decide to close it so unexpectedly when it hasn't been that long. It makes sense you rather stay in your own community. That even happened with projects of people who reached me because of past projects so I thought they were more committed than that.

These days I rarely go out of my wait and most of the help I offer is temporary, there is also that I used to not have enough time because of other obligations, but I definitely don't see myself spreading as thin as I used to. I don't have the energy I used to some years ago. I feel like taking things easy and not make the occasion to create unnecessary stress.Β

Similarly to @empire I'll often try and offer my advice on something as a user of their forum.. Ultimately I leave it up to them whether or not they make changes though.

I don't really go beyond that at the moment, my main efforts are going in to making a success of my own project in any way I can.. If that includes building relationships / partnerships with other individuals or communities, then so be it!

I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

I help out other forums by signing up and posting whenever I have the chance. That means I might not make it back to that place for a couple weeks but I think every little bit can help. I'm not expecting anything in return because there are sites I can sign up to do affiliate stuff. I just think we're all in this together so why not be nice? πŸ™‚

I try my best by joining forums and helping activity increase. πŸ™‚ I also helped one of my mods on a old forum set up his forum on Jcink since he was having issues getting used to the admin control panel.
