At one time, it was noted that a permalink structure with no numbers made a slower site. In that case, WordPress users would always add the date etc.. to the permalink. In other words, it would be nothing like this:
MySite.com/word-only-permalink-post/ (not real site)
Anyway, one problem with that type of permalink - besides speed maybe - is the fact that you cannot make two posts with the same title. O.K. XenForo gets around this by allowing for a title plus a unique number as in say: MySite.com/threads/the-titled-post-plus-a-number.3434343 (not real site).
I always assumed it was a good thing that you didn't have two entries with the same permalink, so I assumed the numbers xenforo adds or adding the date for some blogging permalinks was on purpose to avoid that kind of issue.
To be fair, I never heard about it causing speed issues to use or not this kind of labelling when creating a permalink.
Is it because it had no numbers which led the loading inquiry to take longer in trying to find the right area to load or something like that?
