What's the stuff that annoys you as an admin of a forum? I think spam would be kind of annoying to me, but I was never really annoyed by anything about running a discussion board.

If you're annoyed by a member, will you ban them? If so, for what reason?

Checking your site one last time late at night only to see it full of spam, as well as members not being active.

This is something I blame on me more than on the rest, but it is still annoying. It is frustrating to have your staff going inactive shortly after you. If I have an emergency, it is disheartening seeing your community following suit even when you think you prepared for the situation with your then active staff.

On a different note, for SPAM now you have fast solutions in most software, however, a stubborn person bend in giving you a hard time can be a different matter.

Spammers are annoying for sure, even though for the most part so far they've been picked up by automated measures which have allowed them to register on my site, but not to post. This week I've now implemented a blacklist of over 7500 known disposable / spam email domains.. Hopefully I can stop them before they even register!

It's inevitable that you'll eventually have a member or two that you don't particularly like, but don't really have a legitimate reason to ban them.. All you can do is remain civil, pay closer attention to their activity, and wait for them to slip up 2-3 times. As long as you come across as being fair to other members, there shouldn't be a problem.

I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

yeah I've been there in tolerating a member type situation, nothing sucks more but you don't want to go taking the rules into your own hands. Even admins must abide by the rules.

I have never experienced hate towards me on my own forum but I have had people register to spam and that is what annoys me most.

What annoys me as an Admin is that the lack of motivation i give it to myself. If i am super motivated i will try the best to bring users to my forum.

As an admin for me, my most frustrating points are when I've put a lot of work into the site only to check my site and all I see are spam-bots plugging the latest medical advancement in fake Viagra or whatever other rubbish it is. We all put a lot of effort into our sites and we all want ours to become successful and pull in those members but the truth is, some places fail and some thrive I suppose. It's more beating myself up but like I said, it's frustrating to see that happening for me.

It annoys me when people would say they liked an idea for an event or something so I'd spend hours working to gear it up and make it happen. Then no one would participate. It's like why did I just spend a dozen hours getting this all set up for it to be ignored again?

Another thing that bothers me is just the general attitude of no one wanting to post anymore. I mean there's a certain point where it can't be just the staff anymore. Members have to step up and post too otherwise it very much leads to stress and burnout. I've asked people in the past to help out here and have gotten what feels like just excuses in response. I'd rather people just be up front, if you're not interested anymore... say so. But don't lie to me about it, I've done this long enough I can see right through that.

As a moderator what annoys me most is repeated spam posts by the same users that join through different IPs and post the same adverts again and again with a slight change in their username. I am facing it for last 2 years with a particular spammer that seems to be a paid employee of a movers and packers type company who sends me off-balance almost every week with the same content with a different user name (since his last has already been deleted).

The one liner forum poster with irrelevant content is another problem but couple of deletion of such posts and a mild warning makes things right in such cases.
