What could get your moderator and/or administrator fired on your forum? I know we all have the basics like they just went inactive, they don't do much but I'm looking for what personal rules you may have that can be broken. If you've got any stories please do share.

For me, a staff member would be let go is if they are refusing to collaborate with the rest of the team or at least discuss things. We're all in this together, no need to go fly solo is there?

abuse of power, I'll admit I did owe someone who was being a bit abuse, I did tell them to stop it and they ignored me so I did end up banning them sadly.

In what respect could someone jeopardize the community for you? For me, that would mean things like a staff member planting rumors across the forum, leaking development plans (before we're ready!) or just being a general nuisance. I've had several instances where people on my staff team just decided to go rouge, I've had the old staple of a staff member deleting the site for a laugh moment and that as well. That was the end of that particular relationship. Wasn't even any motive from what I saw - was done just because.

Although I do have experience running Forums(I'm not running one at the moment). I never have had Staff on one.

Here's a list of Reasons for a Staff being Fired:

  1. Abuse of Power
  2. Breaking stuff(E.g. Themes)
  3. Not participating or doing any Work
  4. Trying to exploit Users(E.g. Asking for Pictures, Personal Information etc.)
  5. Allowing random People to be a Staff member without interviewing them

I may have many more reasons but those are the most likely reasons.

Breaking confidentiality would possibly get a staffer fired but I think it depends on what was revealed. I reveal more personal things to staff than to the general public so there might be things that I want discretion.

Some of the reasons-

Unethical behavior

Rude behavior

Not trying hard enough and

Not treating all the members equally

Beside being irregular.

I think that is probably what would happen on most respected forums.

Severely abusing their power or disrespecting the community. Not upholding their rank or maintaining their duties for extended periods of time.

It is simple to get fired.

1. Abuse of power

2. Inactivity

3. Use of bad language

Also, It will matter if they are friendly and helpful to the customers.
